Stopping alcohol abuse is easy... all it takes is everyone!

The Century Council operates on the philosophy that collective action can have a greater impact than individual efforts. We act as a catalyst and bring together all sectors of the community including: beverage alcohol wholesalers and retailers, law enforcement, public officials, educators, insurers, health care professionals and private citizen organizations, in the fight against drunk driving and underage drinking. Strategic partners collaborate with us in the following areas: research, program development, materials distribution, promotional efforts, and development of policy related initiatives.

Given the number of partners, the organizations included in this page will vary over time. To see a complete list of our partners click here.

  • Nickelodeon

Nickelodeon, the only network that puts kids first, is the most-watched television network by kids in the United States and basic cable's number-one network overall. In partnership with Nickelodeon, we launched Ask. Listen. Learn. Kids and Alcohol Don't Mix.™ to provide parents and middle school-aged kids with critical information about the negative consequences of underage drinking.

"Nickelodeon is committed to putting kids first in everything we do, so we're providing our audience with the resources to engage in open and honest conversations with adults. We are excited about our partnership with The Century Council on what we know is a useful program for both parents and their kids." - Mark Updegrove, Vice President Publisher for Nickelodeon Magazine

  • Julie Foudy Leadership Academy

Julie Foudy, former USA Women's Soccer Team Captain, two-time Olympic Gold Medalist, and two-time World Cup Champion, launched the Julie Foudy Leadership Academy (JFLA) to spread the ideals she embodies. Students learn soccer from some of the best women's players in the world, and they are exposed to a multitude of leadership concepts they can cultivate for life. The JFLA partners with us in implementation of Girl Talk: Choices and Consequences of Underage Drinking™.
Recognizing that female soccer players are role models to many teen girls, our Girl Talk program was the sponsor of the 2007 Induction of the National Soccer Hall of Fame – the year when Mia Hamm and Julie Foudy were inducted.

"This is the perfect partnership because we've been trying to get the message across to young kids to make smart decisions. Underage drinking is a huge problem in this country and a cause for concern amongst parents and adults. I'm proud to be a part of the effort." - Julie Foudy
