Since its inception in 1973, the Association for Middle Level Education (AMLE), formerly known as the National Middle School Association (NMSA) has been the only national education association dedicated exclusively to the developmental needs of young adolescents in the middle level  grades. AMLE’s expertise was instrumental in the development of Ask. Listen. Learn. Kids and Alcohol Don’t Mix. AMLE members continue to be frontline partners in the fight against underage drinking and our efforts to promote a healthy lifestyle among youth.
